Turning grief

A fiscal fund of:

Our Mission

No one should have to say goodbye to a pet simply because of a medical bill.

Our Vision
The Gentry Ewing Foundation is a dedicated advocacy initiative that exists to ensure that financial hardship is never the reason an animal goes without medical care.

Our Partnership
To protect the integrity of every dollar given, the Gentry Ewing Foundation operates strictly as a named fund administered by the Veterinary Care Foundation. We never see, touch, or hold the money. Instead, all charitable contributions are made directly to the Veterinary Care Foundation - a registered 501(c)(3) organization. This ensures your gift is entirely tax-deductible and flows seamlessly from their hands straight to the veterinary clinics providing emergency care.

Our Belief
Our mission is rooted in an unwavering truth: every family deserves the grace, the dignity, and the opportunity to fight for the animal they love.

Gentry's Story

June 8, 2026, changed my life forever. After being diagnosed with Stage IVB Lymphoma at just six years old, and six weeks prior - Gentry was gone.

I remember feeling so helpless during his treatment. The countless oncology appointments, primary care visits, medications, sleepless nights, and the constant emotional rollercoaster of knowing the days with my best friend were getting fewer and fewer.

Even with every available resource, I still felt powerless watching the dog I loved more than anything fight for his life.

One day during one of Gentry’s chemotherapy appointments, there was a family sitting in the waiting room facing an impossible decision. They had to discontinue treatment for their pet because they simply could not afford to continue care.

I have never forgotten that moment.

Because as devastating as losing your best friend already is, I cannot imagine having finances determine whether or not you even get the chance to try.

That’s how the Gentry Ewing Foundation was started.

I lost my everything, but my prayer is that through this foundation, someone else won’t have to lose theirs.

  • No, the Gentry Ewing Foundation is not a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Instead, it operates strictly as a named fund administered by the Veterinary Care Foundation, which is a fully registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity.

Because of this arrangement, the Gentry Ewing Foundation acts as a pass-through initiative. It does not hold, touch, or manage any money directly. Every donation is made straight to the Veterinary Care Foundation's tax-exempt umbrella, ensuring that all contributions are fully tax-deductible and securely routed directly to veterinary clinics to pay for care.

  • Every dollar given in honor of The Gentry Ewing Foundation is processed and administered directly by the Veterinary Care Foundation. Because the VCF covers its own operating expenses separately through membership dues, 100% of your donation is used strictly for charitable veterinary assistance and direct grant support for families in need.

  • All charitable contributions are made directly to the Veterinary Care Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that manages and distributes all veterinary assistance. The Veterinary Care Foundation independently reviews all cases and coordinates support for families in need.
